Apple Tree

What feels like a lot to you
Don't seem like that much to me
From just the right point of view
It could be an apple tree

     It's hard to really know
     What everyone can see
But don't you let it go
It could be an apple tree.

It could be a crown of thorns
Tossed on a wine-dark sea
Familiar and so well-worn
It could be an apple tree

     A stronger man might fight
     A smarter man might flee
But what gives me the right
It could be an apple tree

     Hold it in your heart
In case it just might be
     It all could fall apart
Or it could be an apple tree

It could be a pointless turn
Dashed on a rocky lee
The start of a long slow burn
Or it could be an apple tree

     It's hard to really know
     What everyone can see
But don't you let it go
It could be an apple tree
